Future Power Team was founded in 2019 by industry professionals from the renewable energy sector — people who'd worked inside the larger national installers and seen, first-hand, what the big-volume sales-led model produces. Pushy quotes. Overspecified systems. Subcontracted scaffolders and electricians. Disappearing aftercare. We thought Yorkshire deserved better than that, so we built better.
Six years in, the company is still family-run from our Garforth, Leeds office. We've completed 900+ residential and commercial installations across the region, fitted over 12,000 solar panels to Yorkshire roofs, and earned a 4.9-star average rating from 137+ verified Google reviews. The customers we serve in Leeds today are often referred by customers we served in Sheffield three years ago. That's the only marketing model we've ever cared about.
What makes us different isn't the brands we install (we install every major brand worth installing — see our 19 brand partners). It's how we work: no commission-led sales reps, just qualified technicians on fixed pay. No subcontracted fitters — every install is delivered by our own in-house Yorkshire team. No pushy upsells — we recommend systems sized for your home and your tariff, not systems sized for our margin. No more than 10% deposit, ever — the balance is due only when your system is commissioned and you're 100% satisfied.
By managing our own warehousing and logistics, avoiding costly sales overhead and purchasing direct from manufacturers in volume, we keep operating costs low and pass the savings on. The published prices on every brand page and on our residential hub are the actual prices we install at — no "+VAT" surprises, no "well actually that doesn't include scaffolding" footnotes. One number, everything covered.
The team has grown to fifteen people across survey, install and back-office operations — all based in Garforth, all on fixed pay. Our installers carry NAPIT electrician qualifications plus MCS panel-fitting accreditation, our surveyors are qualified renewable energy advisors, and our office team handles every piece of compliance paperwork in-house so customers never see a form they didn't sign. Most of the team has been with FPT since the early days; the rest came across from larger national installers who'd burnt out on the sales-led model.

Every install carries a 5-year insurance-backed workmanship warranty on top of the manufacturer warranties. Protection that survives even if we weren't around in five years — because that's what a real warranty looks like.
