Most of our customers pay for their solar & battery system outright. A growing number prefer to spread the cost — and we want both options to feel equally welcome. This page covers everything you need to know about how finance works when you commission a system through Future Power Team: who arranges it, who lends, what protection you have, and what we will and won't be involved in.
The headline is simple: Future Power Team does not lend money and does not arrange finance directly. We are an Introducer Appointed Representative (IAR) of Phoenix Financial Consultants Ltd — a separate, FCA-regulated credit broker. If you tell us during your survey that you'd like finance, we pass your interest to Phoenix. Phoenix then contacts you independently to discuss options from their panel of lenders, run a status & credit check, and arrange any finance that's suitable. From that point onward, your finance relationship is with Phoenix and the chosen lender — we don't get involved in the credit decision, the rate, or the agreement itself.
You can decline finance at any point and your install proceeds unchanged. Our installer team has no incentive to push finance — they are on fixed pay, not finance-related commission. If finance isn't right for you, just say so and we'll quote on the cash-purchase basis. There is no hidden penalty, no different scaffolding rate, no upsell — the published prices on every brand page are the same whether you pay outright or finance.
Phoenix's panel includes a range of finance products. Below is a high-level summary of the four most common routes — exact products, rates and eligibility are quoted by Phoenix after an initial soft credit search.
Available through Phoenix's panel of lenders. Typical term 3–10 years. Interest rates depend on lender, term and your individual credit profile — Phoenix will quote you specifics after a soft search. No charge over your home.
Some lenders offer products specifically for home-improvement spend, sometimes with promotional rates or interest-free periods. Phoenix will tell you which products their panel currently offers and whether any apply to your install.
Spreading the cost over a fixed term with set monthly payments. Phoenix arranges these through their panel. Most customers find a 5- or 7-year term gives a monthly payment that approximately matches their solar savings — meaning the system pays for itself month-to-month.
Pay-in-full at install completion. Most common option. 10% deposit on order, 90% on commissioning. No finance application, no interest, no third-party involvement. Often the cheapest total-cost-of-ownership route if the funds are available.
Every finance journey follows the same path. We introduce, Phoenix handles the regulated bits. You can stop at any step — the install proceeds either way.
We survey your roof and quote on the cash-purchase basis. If you'd like finance, you tell us during the quote conversation.
We pass your name + contact details + the system price to Phoenix. Nothing else is shared. Phoenix calls you to discuss your options and conduct an initial soft credit search.
If you decide to proceed, Phoenix runs a full status & credit check via your chosen lender. This is a hard search and will show on your credit file.
Lender approves or declines. If approved, your finance starts on the day of install commissioning — not on the day of order. You always retain a 14-day cooling-off period after signing.
