How much does a FoxESS solar and battery system cost installed? +
Our fully-installed FoxESS packages start at £5,995 for the Starter (2.25 kWp Aiko panels + FoxESS H1 inverter + 6 kWh FoxESS EP6 battery), through £6,795 for the Most Popular (4.75 kWp + 6 kWh battery), and £7,695 for the Smart Tariff Optimised system (4.75 kWp + Sigenergy battery — the best Octopus Flux pairing). Every price all-inclusive: scaffolding, MCS certification, DNO notification, 5-year FPT workmanship warranty, VAT. No extras after the quote.
Is FoxESS compatible with Octopus Intelligent Flux? +
Yes — FoxESS is on the short list of batteries that integrate directly with the Octopus Intelligent Flux API. The FoxESS app handles the daily charge / hold / export schedule automatically. We set this up at commissioning, free. See our dedicated FoxESS + Octopus Intelligent Flux setup page for the full breakdown, daily price graph and typical savings.
What's the difference between the FoxESS H1 and the FoxESS H3 inverter? +
FoxESS H1 is the single-phase residential hybrid inverter — what we install on 90%+ of UK domestic systems. FoxESS H3 is the three-phase variant, used for larger homes or homes with a 3-phase electricity supply. We carry both. If you're not sure which you need, we'll check your meter cabinet during the survey.
How big is a FoxESS EP6 battery? Can I expand it later? +
Each FoxESS EP6 module stores 6.05 kWh usable. Modules stack — start at 6 kWh, add a second module later for 12 kWh, up to 4 modules per inverter for 24 kWh total. Adding modules later requires a 2-hour technician visit but no new inverter, no new scaffolding, no new DNO paperwork. Future-proof by design.
What warranty comes with FoxESS? +
FoxESS's standard product warranty is 10 years on both the battery (EP6) and the hybrid inverter (H1/H3). Some larger commercial systems carry 12-year warranties. On top of FoxESS's warranty, every Future Power Team install carries a 5-year insurance-backed workmanship warranty — protection that survives even if we weren't around in 5 years.
How long does a FoxESS installation take? +
A typical residential FoxESS install is 1–2 days on site, including scaffolding (erected day before), panel mounting, inverter and battery wiring, MCS certification and Octopus API commissioning. From your enquiry to a working system: typically 2–4 weeks across Yorkshire.
Can FoxESS work with Intelligent Octopus Go (the Octopus EV-charging tariff)? +
Yes — FoxESS pairs with both Octopus Intelligent Flux (battery tariff) AND Intelligent Octopus Go (EV-charging tariff). Many FPT customers stack the two: Flux handles the battery charge/export cycle, Go handles their EV charging at the off-peak rate. The FoxESS app + Octopus's API manage both simultaneously without any manual intervention. Stacking the two adds to your savings on top of standard solar generation; the best smart tariff and the rate vary by region, so we'll help you find the best available in your area.
FoxESS vs Tesla Powerwall — which should I choose? +
FoxESS wins on price (~£3,000 cheaper for similar storage), modular expansion (stack 6 kWh modules), and Octopus Flux integration. Tesla Powerwall 3 wins on whole-home blackout backup, app polish, and brand recognition. For most Yorkshire homes on Octopus Flux without backup needs, FoxESS is the better-value choice. For homes that lose power often or want the Tesla ecosystem, Powerwall 3 wins. We install both — we'll recommend based on your priorities, not our margin.
Where is FoxESS manufactured? Is it a Chinese brand? +
FoxESS is a Sino-British company. Engineering and product design happens in the UK (Sheffield) and at the parent company in China; manufacturing is in dedicated FoxESS factories in China. UK distribution, technical support and firmware operations run from the UK. Most domestic batteries you can buy in the UK (Tesla Powerwall, FoxESS, Sigenergy, BYD, Pylontech) are manufactured in Asia — that's the global supply chain. What matters is UK distributor presence + warranty support, which FoxESS has in depth.
